Make the dashboard your own

Pin or remove items on Dashboard

Dashboard is the home’s landing screen. It shows weather for the home’s address, the home’s clock, and anything you pin from a device page or routine. It is the same saved board on web and phone for that home, not a separate board per device.

1. Open the device page or routine you want to add.
2. Choose Pin to dashboard. The pin saves immediately.Pin to dashboard
3. If the button already reads On the dashboard, the item is already pinned. Leave it unchanged to keep it. Choosing On the dashboard removes the pin.On the dashboard
4. Return to Dashboard to see the result.

Run a pinned routine

Pinned routines work differently on web and on the phone. On the phone, tapping a pinned routine opens it first. To run it directly from Dashboard, hold the pinned routine tile without opening it first. On web, the routine card offers Run now, so the gesture is not the same on every platform.

1. On the phone, hold the pinned routine tile on Dashboard without opening it first.
2. Hold deliberately until Hold to run changes to Keep holding to run, then keep holding.
3. Read the last result to confirm what happened. Do not assume a tap means the routine ran.

Weather and clock

Weather and time come from the home’s saved location. If weather does not appear, the address may not be saved or may not have been found. A refresh failure does not mean the home has no devices.

1. On web, open Home settings and set the home’s Address and Timezone.
2. If the weather still does not show, correct the address and try again.
3. If you want different measurement units, open Settings, Appearance and choose your personal units.

What you should see afterwards

• The same saved Dashboard board appears on web and phone for the home.
• Pinned devices and routines stay on the board until you remove them.
• Weather and the home’s clock reflect the saved home location and timezone.
• Your personal units appear only after you choose them in Settings, Appearance.

If something is not right

• Nothing pinned yet means the board is empty, not broken.
• The board could not be read is an error message and is different from an empty board.
• If On the dashboard is shown, that item is already pinned and choosing it removes the pin.
• If weather is missing, check the home’s Address and Timezone on web before looking for another cause.
• Home Security is unreleased and does not change Dashboard behavior yet.
