Add a device to your home

Choose the right setup path

Start by choosing your home and then use Add a device. If the device is supplied by an integration, follow that integration’s discovery or pairing instructions. If it is an ALYT device, use its own guided setup. These are different paths, and you should not reset an existing device only to make it appear in a list.

Set up an ALYT device

On the web, the wizard begins with Where will it live? Select the property or room, then Continue to Authorise this device to join. Use the displayed action to create the one-time code. Continue to Find the device and allow the browser’s Bluetooth prompt if it appears. Choose the device, choose its network, and enter Network name and Password when asked. Join the network, then wait for the device to register.

The device is joining is not the finished state. Use Done after the device appears.

Browser and phone differences

If the browser says This browser cannot set up a device, use a browser or device supported by the displayed instructions, or switch to the phone setup flow. On the phone, Bluetooth permission may be required. Do not try to open router ports or assign a static address.

Add a device from an integration

For a connected integration, use its discovery action. In the Add a device panel, choose What are you adding?, follow the exact brand or model instructions, and watch for Joining now. Assign the new device’s Room and finish with Done.

If something blocks setup

If Device setup is managed by your partner appears, request help in Support. A failed discovery does not mean your home is empty. Check the device’s pairing mode and the on-screen error before you try again.
