Read energy use and battery levels

Read the device readings

Open the correct home, then open Home or Devices, and select the device. Only the capabilities available for that device appear. The labels may be presented differently on web, iOS, and Android, but the readings themselves are the same.

1. Look for Energy readings. Power is a read-only watt reading. Today is a read-only daily energy reading in kilowatt-hours.
2. Look for Battery readings. Battery is a read-only percentage. Battery low is a read-only device warning.
3. If the device does not show a value, treat Unknown as no valid reading. It does not mean Off or zero.

What you should see afterwards

• The device page shows the available Energy or Battery readings for that device.
• Readings update when the home returns a valid value.
• If the device has no battery information, Battery and Battery low will not appear.

If the reading does not appear or looks wrong

1. Check that you opened the correct home and the correct device.
2. If the device is unreachable, check its power and the displayed connection.
3. Do not repeatedly trigger the same action to diagnose a failed read. A requested value is provisional until the home answers.
4. If the problem continues, use Support with the room, the device name, and the observed problem.
