Open, close and stop blinds or covers

Use the controls on the device page in your home to open, close, stop, or set the position of a blind or cover. Only the controls supported by that device appear. A request is not the same as the cover already moving or finished moving.

Control the blind or cover

Open the device page for the blind or cover. The exact controls shown depend on that device. On web, iOS, and Android, follow the displayed control for the movement you want.

  1. Select Position if you want a supported opening percentage. Then choose the position shown for that device.Position
  2. Select Open to request the cover to move open.Open
  3. Select Close to request the cover to move closed.Close
  4. Select Stop if the device supports stopping movement and you want to stop it.Stop

If the cover does not respond

Unknown means there is no valid reading, not that the cover is off or at zero. If a request seems unresponsive, do not keep sending the same action to diagnose it.

  • Check power to the device.
  • Check the displayed connection status for the device.
  • If it is still unreachable, contact Support with the room, device name, and the problem you observed.
