Watch a camera and use two-way talk

Open the camera and start watching

Open the camera tile to reach the full camera page, where the player appears. Use Watch live to open supported live view. While the camera loads or if it is not currently available, the page may show Connecting, Waiting for the picture, Offline, or Not watching.

1. Open the correct home, then Home or Devices, and select the camera device.
2. Open the camera tile to show the full camera page and player.

Use camera audio and two-way talk

If the camera supports listening, use Mute camera audio or Unmute camera audio on web and phone to change what you hear. This is separate from microphone access for talking. To speak through the camera, use Start two-way talk only through the controls shown on that camera, and allow microphone access when prompted. Two-way talk is temporary and ends when you end the player or go Back.

2. Allow microphone access when your browser or phone asks for it.
3. When you are finished, end the player or go Back to stop the session.

Optional camera controls

Some cameras also show Privacy mode. It appears only when the connected camera supports it. Last picture is a read-only reading, not a control. Record a clip creates a short temporary clip only where offered, and on web the related controls are Record clip and Stop recording. On phone, the related controls are Record a clip to this phone and Stop recording and keep the clip. Save or Discard appears after recording, and you should finish saving or sharing before leaving the page.

2. Check Last picture as a reading if you want the most recent still image.
3. If you record a clip, stay in the save flow until you finish saving or choose to discard the temporary clip.

When the camera does not respond

Unknown means no valid reading, not Off or zero. If the device is unreachable, check power and the displayed connection. Use Support with the room, device name, and the problem you see. Do not keep repeating the same action to diagnose a failed read.

• If Watch live does not start, wait for the page state to change from Connecting or Waiting for the picture.
• If the camera is Offline, check the camera’s power and connection.
• If two-way talk does not start, confirm that microphone access is allowed.
• If audio is not what you expect, check Mute camera audio or Unmute camera audio on the camera page.
