Use lights and smart switches

Open the device

1. Choose the correct home.
2. Open Home or Devices on web, iOS, or Android.
3. Select the light or smart switch you want to use.

Change the available controls

Only the capabilities returned for that device are shown. Use the controls that appear on the device screen.

1. Use Power to switch the light or plug on or off. For a switch, Power is the only generic control.PowerPower
2. Use Brightness to dim a supported light.Brightness
3. Use Warmth to adjust the white temperature of a supported light.Warmth
4. Use Colour to pick a colour only when the bulb supports colour.Colour

What you should see afterwards

• The device screen shows only the controls that apply to that device.
• A light may show Power, Brightness, Warmth, or Colour, depending on support.
• A switch shows Power only.
• A requested change may take a moment before the home reports the final reading.

Troubleshooting

If the device does not respond, check power and the displayed connection status. Do not repeat the action many times to test a failed read.

If the device is still unreachable, use Support with the room, the device name, and the problem you observed.

If your phone uses different wording for a specialized control, follow the label shown on your screen instead of the generic names here.
