Ask from the phone

Choose your home, then use the microphone control to speak one question.

1. Choose the home you want to talk to.
2. When the app asks for microphone permission, allow it.
3. Press and hold Talk while you speak one question. Release it to send your request. A brief tap does not submit speech.Talk
4. Keep the recording within fifteen seconds.

The assistant panel shows progress, the heard words when the home retains them, and the answer.

What you should see afterwards

After you release Talk, the app should show the response in the assistant panel. If audio is available, the phone plays the reply. A spoken device or routine request is not successful just because recording ended; read the answer and check the resulting device or routine state.

If no reply is heard

• Check microphone permission.
• Check the phone's audio.
• Check the home's connection.
• Read the text answer if audio cannot play.
• Do not resend a lock or other consequential command just because the phone was quiet.

Voice settings and history are under Settings then Voice. They are not hidden in the microphone gesture.
