Update your personal settings
- On web, open Settings. On phone, open your avatar, then Settings.Settings
- On web, review Account to confirm the signed-in person. Use Sign out only when another person will use the app.Sign out
- On web, change Your name and Your family name with the adjacent save action. These settings are for your own profile.
- On web, open Preferences to set Theme, Units, and Confirmation. Theme offers light, dark, or system. Units offers Metric: °C, km/h, m or Imperial: °F, mph, ft. Confirmation lets you choose a spoken response or A short sound.
- On phone, open Appearance to set Theme or Units. Theme offers Light, System, or Dark. Units offers Metric: °C, km or Imperial: °F, mi. Before you choose units, the app says Following the home. Choose to keep your own. After you choose, it says Your choice, everywhere you sign in.
- On phone, use the profile controls if you want to change your picture, and follow the displayed photo picker. A phone may ask permission to access a selected photo.
- If you use Linked services on web, review the services authorized from your account. Use Unlink to remove that service’s authorization only.
What you should see afterwards
- Your personal settings remain in Settings or Appearance, depending on platform.
- On phone, your unit choice is shown as applying everywhere you sign in.
- Linked services, if present, show the services still authorized from your account.
If something does not look right
If a setting is not available, check that you are in the right platform area. Web uses Settings with Account and Preferences. Phone uses your avatar, then Settings, with Appearance for Theme and Units.
If you unlink a service, remember that it removes that service’s authorization only. It does not delete the provider’s account.
If you are signing out for privacy, return to sign-in before handing over the device. Signing out does not delete the household, other devices’ logins, or provider accounts.
