Connect Amazon Alexa

Before you connect

Select the correct home in ALYT before you begin. On web, open Integrations. On iPhone or Android, open Settings, then Integrations. Open Amazon Alexa and read the current availability and limits for this home. If the connector is not available for this home, use the Support route you normally use for help.

Set up Amazon Alexa

1. In the Alexa app, enable the ALYT add-on for this home.
2. Sign in to ALYT when Alexa asks you to do so.
3. Choose the home you want to link.
4. Return to ALYT and open Integrations if you left it.Integrations
5. Expand Amazon Alexa and confirm that it shows Linked to with the selected home.
6. If you want to remove the connection later, use Unlink in the Amazon Alexa tile or in Linked services.Unlink

What you should see afterwards

The Amazon Alexa tile shows Linked to and the home you selected. It also appears under Linked services in personal settings. Alexa gains access to the home only after the link is complete; it does not add an Echo as new ALYT hardware.

Limits

• Words spoken to Alexa are processed by Amazon.
• ALYT local voice is separate.
• For room-relative commands, place the Echo or Sonos with Alexa and the room’s devices in the same group in the Alexa app. Use Devices, plus, Add group.
• Unlink removes this account’s permission for the home, and Alexa stops seeing and controlling it until you link again.

Troubleshooting

If linking fails, check that you selected the correct ALYT account and home in the Alexa linking flow. If the home still does not appear linked in ALYT, start again from the Alexa app. If you no longer want the connection, use Unlink and then link again from Alexa later if needed.
