Connect ecobee

WebiPhoneAndroid

Connect an ecobee thermostat to ALYT by pairing it on your home network with its HomeKit code. This workflow uses the thermostat’s local address and does not use an ecobee account.

Before you start

Open the correct home first. In the web app, go to Integrations. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings, then Integrations. Open ecobee and review its availability and limits before you continue.

This connector is available and connects locally. It brings thermostats and room sensors. It does not use an ecobee account.

Set up the thermostat

  1. On the thermostat, turn on HomeKit in Main menu, then Settings, then HomeKit. Leave that screen open.
  2. Make sure the thermostat is not already paired to Apple Home. If it already is, do not continue until that pairing has been handled.
  3. In ALYT, open ecobee and enter the thermostat address from Settings, Wi-Fi into Address on your network.
  4. Choose Connect.Connect
  5. When ALYT starts pairing, use the fresh code shown by the thermostat in ALYT’s next step and choose Continue.Continue

After you connect

ALYT should confirm the connection and then show the discovered thermostat and any room sensors. Use Look for the thermostat if it is offered and you want to refresh the list.

Open the thermostat or sensor entry to check its reported state. A successful connection does not mean a device has already changed state.

Troubleshooting

  • If ALYT cannot reach the thermostat, confirm that you entered the local address shown in Settings, Wi-Fi and that the thermostat is on the same home network.
  • If pairing does not start, confirm that HomeKit is enabled on the thermostat and that it is not already paired to Apple Home.
  • If the connection fails, read the on-screen error and correct the field or network issue it names before trying again.
  • Do not create duplicate connections to investigate an unclear result.
  • To remove the connection, choose Disconnect, read the consequence, and confirm Disconnect. Keep it leaves the connection in place.
