Make a detailed request

ALYT interprets your request against the rooms and devices in your home. Use the room or device name when several targets are possible. Say the full value and unit for temperature or any other measured setting. You can also include exclusions and ordered operations when your home’s voice setup supports them.

ALYT checks supported controls, current limits, and your permission before it sends a command. If you ask for a relative change, it uses a fresh reading and your home’s configured adjustment policy. If something is unclear or unavailable, ALYT asks you to clarify.

Confirm or change a proposed plan

1. Listen for the proposed plan before you expect the device to change.
2. Confirm the plan if it matches what you want.
3. Reject it or change the targets or values if it is not correct.
4. If you change the plan, make the request again and confirm the new plan.

Check the result carefully

A spoken acknowledgement that a command was sent does not prove that the physical action happened. Check the action result or the reported device setting. Awaiting confirmation, partial, failed, and unknown results remain distinct. A pending plan can expire, and a changed device, permission, or routine can require a new request.

Use the Talk panel on the phone

On the phone, use the existing Talk panel. An answer being displayed or played is separate from a device action being confirmed. A followup stays in the current short conversation. Changing account, home, or session starts a different one. If a saved routine needs a one-run correction that cannot be represented safely, keep the saved routine unchanged.

Shared microphones and permissions

Shared microphones use explicit household Owner permission for ordinary controls and installed routines. A microphone does not identify the person speaking. Device or household changes can remove that permission, and restoring the old device does not restore an expired or revoked grant. Locks and Home Security remain outside this ordinary shared-microphone grant.

Troubleshooting

If ALYT asks for clarification, restate the room, device, value, or unit. If the result is unknown or partial, check the action result before repeating the command. Interrupting the answer does not reverse a command already sent.
