Choose Sonos and Plex connections

Change Sonos and Plex connections

In the selected home’s settings, open Media connections. Choose Sonos and Plex independently. Sonos can use the cloud or the local connector. Plex can use the local connector or stay disabled. Plex does not offer a cloud choice.

1. Open the selected home’s settings and select Media connections.
2. Find Sonos and choose one available option from the list. The labels are Use home default, Through the cloud, and Through the local connector.
3. Find Plex and choose one available option from the list. The labels are Use home default, Through the local connector, and Not enabled.
4. Save the changes and wait for confirmation before leaving the page.

After saving, the page shows Connection saved. If another editor changed the settings at the same time, reload the page and try again.

What you should see afterwards

• Sonos and Plex keep their own selected routes.
• The selected route can be cloud, local, or disabled only where that service supports it.
• The home’s hosting mode stays the same.
• If local is chosen, the home must have the correctly bound reachable home connector; a reachable server alone is not enough.
• The page may show a reason next to a choice when that option is unavailable or not currently effective.

Troubleshooting

If Media connections cannot be read, use Retry.

If saving fails because another editor changed the settings, reload the page and make the change again.

If a Sonos route change does not save during audio restoration, wait until the restoration is complete and try again.

If a local choice is unavailable, check the reason shown for that home. The local connector must be correctly bound and reachable for that home.
