Start and continue a short conversation

On a qualified continuous-capture installation, one wake opens a short active conversation. Speak followups within that window. Silence, timeout, or loss of the current device binding closes it. A device using the ordinary wake path continues to require its existing wake behavior.

A followup stays in the current conversation. If you change account, home, or session, that creates a different conversation.

Interrupt an answer safely

Speaking during an answer interrupts only the owned answer and interpretation. ALYT needs a working echo path so your own sound does not become a request. If playback cancellation or echo processing cannot be confirmed, the active conversation closes safely.

An interrupted answer does not cancel a physical action already sent. Check the action result before repeating the command. Speaker restoration stays with the existing playback owner, and an unresolved interruption remains visible for recovery.

Use the Talk panel on the phone

The phone Talk panel can show an answer and provide a rendered clip for playback on the phone. A displayed or played reply is not the same thing as a confirmed device action. Check the separate action result before repeating an uncertain command.

If the selected conversation is busy, ALYT reports that it is busy instead of sending the same request through a second executor.

Processing and permissions

Optional recognition, speech synthesis, and assistant processing each use the installation’s selected destination. Off-property processing needs current cloud consent. An optional general assistant receives no device-control tools. If permission is missing or processing is unavailable, ALYT gives an unavailable answer while ordinary manual controls and saved routines remain usable.

Troubleshooting

If the conversation closes early, wait for a new wake or use the ordinary wake path. If playback or echo handling cannot be confirmed, stop speaking and restart the request after the conversation ends. If a device action result is unknown, check the home’s action result before sending the command again.
