Connect SwitchBot

WebiPhoneAndroid

Use the SwitchBot cloud connection for devices your SwitchBot Hub already exposes, or use SwitchBot via hub Bluetooth for a supported nearby Curtain 3 in this home. The cloud path asks for Token and Secret from the SwitchBot app. The Bluetooth path uses the local hub scan, needs no SwitchBot Token or Secret, and may offer Configuration for a supported Curtain 3 after it is added.

Choose the connection that matches your device

SwitchBot cloud and SwitchBot via hub Bluetooth are separate connections. Use the cloud connection for devices already exposed by a SwitchBot Hub. Use the Bluetooth connection for a supported nearby Curtain 3 when you want ALYT to work through the local hub scan instead of SwitchBot cloud.

If you use the cloud connection, open Integrations, choose SwitchBot, and choose Connect. If you use the Bluetooth connection, open the local Bluetooth option for SwitchBot via hub Bluetooth and continue with the hub scan in this home.

Connect SwitchBot cloud

  1. Open Integrations.Integrations
  2. Choose SwitchBot.
  3. Choose Connect.Connect
  4. Enter the Token and the Secret from the SwitchBot app.
  5. Confirm the correct home before you save the connection.

After you save, ALYT can discover supported SwitchBot devices that your SwitchBot Hub already exposes.

What you should see afterwards: the SwitchBot connection appears in your home, and discovered devices can show their reported capabilities.

Add a supported Curtain 3 with SwitchBot via hub Bluetooth

  1. Open SwitchBot via hub Bluetooth.
  2. Choose the ALYT hub in this home.
  3. Continue with Add a Bluetooth curtain.
  4. Select the nearby Curtain 3 that belongs to one curtain.

This path needs no SwitchBot Token or Secret. It also does not remove an existing cloud connection to the same hardware.

What you should see afterwards: the curtain is added to ALYT, and it waits for its owning hub to report fresh position, battery, and calibration state.

Use Configuration for a supported Curtain 3

After a supported single Curtain 3 is added, More → Configuration can offer the guided ALYT calibration flow. Stay beside the curtain while you work through the steps shown on screen.

  1. Choose the opening direction.
  2. Confirm that the curtain is fully closed.
  3. Use Start opening, then Stop or wait for Fully open.
  4. Use Start closing, then wait for Fully closed.
  5. Finish the flow and wait for Calibration saved.

What you should see afterwards: ALYT shows Calibration saved only after the motor confirms valid limits. Open, Close, Stop, and position appear only when that exact endpoint and hub report them as supported.

Disconnect

  1. Open the SwitchBot connection you want to remove.
  2. Choose Disconnect.
  3. Read which imported endpoints are affected.
  4. Confirm the named Disconnect action.

What you should see afterwards: the selected connection is removed, and the app shows the consequence before you confirm. Keep it cancels without removing anything.

Disconnecting one SwitchBot connection does not silently remove the other.

Troubleshooting

  • If the cloud form does not accept your details, check that the Token and Secret came from the SwitchBot app and that you chose the correct home.
  • If the Bluetooth flow does not offer the curtain you expect, make sure you chose SwitchBot via hub Bluetooth, selected the correct ALYT hub, and are working with a supported Curtain 3.
  • If Configuration does not appear, the curtain may not be an accepted single Curtain 3, or its hub may not be reporting the fresh state needed for the guided flow.
  • If disconnecting does not remove what you expected, read the consequence shown before you confirm; some device types keep their other connection unchanged.
