Read energy use and battery levels

WebiPhoneAndroid

Open the device that reports the readings, then read the Energy and Battery sections on its details page. These values are read-only. Unknown means the device has not reported a valid value yet.

Read energy use and battery levels

Use the device details page to check current energy use and battery status. Energy values are shown as measurements, and battery values are shown as a percentage and a low-battery warning when the device reports one.

  1. Open Home or Devices, then open the device you want to check.
  2. Find the Energy section. Read Power for the current watt reading and Today for the reported daily energy in kilowatt-hours.
  3. Find the Battery section. Read Battery for the reported battery percentage and Battery low for the device warning.
  4. If the device shows Unknown for any value, treat it as no valid reading yet, not as zero or off.

Afterwards, you should see the latest reported Power and Today values in Energy, and Battery plus Battery low in Battery when the device provides them.

Troubleshooting

  • If a value says Unknown, the device has not reported a valid reading yet.
  • If the device does not show Energy or Battery, that capability is not available on that device.
  • If readings stop updating, check that the device is powered on and reachable in your home.

Do not repeat actions to diagnose a missing reading. A missing or unknown value is not the same as zero, Off, or a failed reading that can be fixed from this page.
