Understand optional external intelligence and privacy

WebiPhoneAndroid

Use external intelligence only for approved help with knowledge or planning, while ALYT keeps home control, permissions, and device execution separate.

What this feature does

ALYT keeps your home state, device control, and ordinary routines local to your home setup. For some requests, Simone can ask an approved external intelligence service for help with knowledge or planning. This assistance does not move device control to another service, and it does not choose a different service automatically if the selected one is unavailable.

The external service is separate from where the ALYT app runs. A privately hosted ALYT installation or a service on an operator’s network does not, by itself, mean that inference stays on your property. The selected service must also follow the reviewed no-storage policy for your home.

How to review consent and availability

  1. Open the existing supported consent interface for your home and check whether off-property inference consent is enabled.
  2. If you do not manage that setting yourself, ask your authorized operator to verify it for you.
  3. Check that the configured external service is the one your home approved for this purpose.
  4. If the service is unavailable, continue with ordinary controls and local routines.

What ALYT sends and what it keeps back

  • Requests are limited to the approved purpose and relevant control information from one room.
  • ALYT leaves out room and device names, raw requests, personal history, audio, security and occupancy details, and unrelated rooms.
  • Capability guidance uses control descriptions without readings unless the approved climate-purpose policy allows a relevant current temperature or setpoint value.
  • An external suggestion is not a completed action and does not grant a new permission.

If consent is revoked, no new requests are sent. Revoking consent cannot pull back information that was already sent to an external service.

What you should see afterwards

You should still be able to use your normal manual controls, voice behavior, and saved routines. If external help is not available or is refused, the home continues to work with local control paths.

Troubleshooting

If a request is refused, check whether it depends on off-property inference consent, whether the destination service is still configured, and whether the request stays within the approved purpose and one-room limit. If a suggestion looks stale or unsupported, use the current local control instead. Device outcomes still require their normal physical evidence.
