Your home, its intelligence and its controls

Learn how ALYT organizes your home, what its intelligence can and cannot do, and how to understand readings, controls and requests across web, iPhone and Android.

How your home is organized in ALYT

ALYT is the local-first intelligence and control layer for your physical environment. Simone is the home assistant in ALYT, but your home, its rooms, devices, routines and permissions remain part of the home itself rather than part of any single conversation.

  1. Choose the correct home before you use Devices, rooms or routines.
  2. Open a device or room to use only the controls that ALYT shows for that device.
  3. Treat saved routines as part of your home setup, using the home’s own devices and permissions.

On web, iPhone and Android, your saved home identity, room placement and device settings stay with the home. TV is for everyday use, while installation and configuration are done on web or phone.

A device model or brand name does not by itself prove that every feature on that product is supported. Follow the controls that ALYT actually offers for that device.

Understand readings and requested changes

ALYT separates a recorded reading from a requested action. This helps you tell the difference between what a device last reported and what you asked it to do.

  1. When you check a device, read the reported state first.
  2. If you also sent a change, read the action status separately from the reported state.
  3. Use the explanation shown for the device or action when the result is unclear.
  • Unknown does not mean Off, closed, safe or complete.
  • A fresh battery reading does not prove that a lock moved.
  • Change pending, Waiting for the device and Change not confirmed describe the request separately from the last reported reading.

A successful acknowledgement alone is not evidence that the physical result happened. Keep manual access available for locks, curtains and other consequential devices until the physical result is clear.

Use intelligence within your home access

Voice and apps can help you ask for information or use supported controls, but AI does not grant access to another home or create a device capability that is not already part of your home.

  1. Use voice or an app only for homes and devices you already have access to.
  2. Expect your current permissions to continue to apply to requests, routines and device actions.
  3. Use any required confirmation or consent step for sensitive actions.

Applications and AI features use ALYT’s authorized controls. They do not own the devices, and they do not decide on their own that a physical action succeeded.

Sharing a device name, message or conversation does not itself give another person access to your home.

Know what stays local and what depends on providers

Some control and routine work can happen in the home, and some integrations remain cloud-dependent because they rely on their provider and network connection.

  1. Use the controls that remain available when internet or provider service is interrupted.
  2. Read the explanation shown for any action that does not complete.
  3. Keep your saved home and devices in place while you verify the issue.

Local device control does not mean that every voice or AI request is processed locally. It also does not mean that every mixed routine can finish without internet access.

Do not remove devices or factory-reset the hub just to test an outage.

What you should see afterward

  • Your home continues to show its saved rooms, devices and routines.
  • Each device shows only the controls and readings that ALYT currently supports for that device.
  • Action status and reported state remain distinct, so you can tell what was requested and what was last reported.
  • Your access remains limited by your home permissions, even when you use voice or AI features.
