Set the widget in ALYT
Open Settings, then Widget, and choose the home. The choices save as you make them, so there is no separate Save button. The widget can use supported device controls and routines, and when you do not make an explicit selection it can use the dashboard pins.
- Open Settings, then Widget.Widget
- Choose the home you want the widget to use.
- If needed, set the widget choices you want to appear.
What you should see afterwards
- The widget reflects the home you selected in ALYT.
- Selected supported device controls and routines can appear in the widget.
- If you did not choose specific items, the widget can use the dashboard pins.
On iPhone, additional checks help prevent obsolete home selections. On Android, equivalent checks are still being completed, so behavior is not yet the same on both platforms.
Troubleshooting
If the widget looks stale, open ALYT, confirm the correct home, and check that you are signed in with the right account. Then review the widget choices again.
If you signed out, the widget must not keep offering authorized controls.
Controls that require confirmation, including locks, are not available as one-press widget actions. If an older saved choice now needs confirmation, the widget opens ALYT instead of unlocking directly.
Read-only values are readings, not buttons, so they cannot be used as actions in the widget.
