Open the meter and read its measurements
- Choose your home and open the Zigbee power or energy meter device.
- Read only the measurements that appear for that device. Web, iPhone, and Android show the same supported readouts for the selected device, but a given model can still expose different fields from another model.
- Use the device values as shown: Yesterday consumption is a separate device-reported kWh period counter; Average power (10 min) is the device-reported 10 minute average in W and is distinct from instantaneous W; Phase A, Phase B, and Phase C watts keep their own labels and are not added into a total; Cumulative energy and Produced energy are shown in kWh where reported; Voltage is shown in V; Current is shown in A where reported.
- If the device reports gas or water, read Gas consumed and Water consumed in m³, and Flow in m³/h. A configured pulse meter shows its actual mode and source units, and ALYT converts those reported units into the displayed quantity.
- If the device reports thermal energy, read Cumulative heat as a separate thermal kWh value. It is not electrical consumption and is not added to electrical or produced-energy counters.
- If the device shows signed power, keep the sign as shown. ALYT does not turn signed power into an unsigned value.
- If the meter is paired with a switch, keep using the switch controls separately. The meter readings do not add extra commands.
Check whether a reading is current
- Look at each field’s observation time, Current or Not current status, and report origin.
- Treat Current as a fresh device report. A replayed report, saved report, radio check-in, or battery update does not refresh the meter measurement.
- If the report is missing, invalid, contradictory, or stale, the reading shows unknown instead of zero.
- If a cumulative counter drops, or its scale or source changes, ALYT records the new raw baseline and leaves continuity unknown. A later nondecreasing report can establish the new reading.
- For a device that reports period counters, use the device-reported values for Today, This month, Produced today, and Produced this month when those fields appear. ALYT does not calculate them from a lifetime total.
Know what to expect from specific meter types
- A BASIC or S61 relay guard depends on fresh evidence from the same physical device for relay-linked readings. An old saved switch state cannot establish the measurement.
- ELKO averaging is shown as the device-reported average, not as an ALYT-calculated value.
- ZHEMI101 format, mode, and units are read from the device’s reported configuration, and ALYT displays the resulting quantity in the matching unit.
- hoch RAW positions stay tied to their reported positions; ALYT does not invent a combined reading.
- PJ1203A voltage is independent of other counters and is shown only when the device reports it.
What you should see afterwards
You should see the meter’s supported readings for your home, each with its own unit and status. Current reports show as current, older or unsupported reports show as not current or unknown, and phase, gas, water, thermal, electrical, and produced-energy fields stay separate from one another.
Troubleshooting
- If a value appears as unknown, check whether the device actually reports that field and whether the report is current.
- If a counter seems to jump backward, wait for a later nondecreasing report. ALYT does not infer a reset or a wrap from the jump.
- If current on a configured HAN meter becomes unknown, wait for fresh configuration evidence from that device before relying on the reading.
- If a dependent reading is missing on a relay-linked meter, check for a fresh report from the same physical device rather than an old saved switch state.
- If the meter is sleeping, keep it paired and wait for a new measurement report. A sleeping device can remain paired without a recent measurement.
A supported two-channel meter shows separate Channel A and B power, current, power factor, and energy-flow direction, plus each channel’s imported and produced energy. Net channel power is the meter’s signed combination of those channels and is labelled separately from an independent total. Frequency is shown in Hz. These readings are read-only on web, iOS, and Android.
A channel reading can arrive in several related reports. Its displayed observation time stays the time of the power measurement, even if a later report completes the set. Duplicates, missing packets, expired or invalid evidence do not make a fresh reading. An incomplete set is unknown; a later complete set establishes a reading. Imported and produced lifetime counters remain separate, with the same discontinuity rule as other meters.
Supported Green Power meters retain their GP Source ID and read-only measurements. Apparent power uses volt-amperes (VA), distinct from active power in watts. Reported phase A/B/C voltages, currents, powers, and energy counters keep their phase labels. Reported line voltages AB, BC, and CA remain distinct from phase-to-neutral voltage; power factor uses percent and frequency uses Hz. ALYT uses divisors from the same measurement report. A missing or invalid divisor, malformed report, or repeated security frame counter cannot make a fresh reading. A host restart does not make an old GP packet fresh. See the full-library acquisition guide for their separate commissioning window.
