Add a device to your home

Choose the right setup

Start from Add a device and pick the path that matches what you are adding. If you are adding an ALYT device, use the guided setup shown on that screen. If you are adding a device from an integration, use that integration’s discovery or pairing instructions. These are different paths, and you should not reset a working device just to make it appear in a list.

ALYT device on the web

Follow the wizard in order. First choose where it will live. Select the property, then the room. Continue to Authorise this device to join and create the one-time code with the displayed action. Continue to Find the device and allow the browser Bluetooth prompt when it appears.

3. At Authorise this device to join, use the displayed action to create the one-time code, then continue.
4. At Find the device, wait for the browser Bluetooth prompt and choose the device.
5. Choose its network and enter Network name and Password when asked.
6. Join the network and wait for the device to register.
7. When the device appears, select Done.Done

After you join the network, the device is joining is still progress, not the end of setup. Wait until the device appears before you tap Done.

Browser and phone differences

If the page says This browser cannot set up a device, that browser does not support the web Bluetooth setup path shown on the page. Use a browser or device that matches the instructions shown there, or use the phone setup flow. On the phone, Bluetooth permission may be requested before setup can continue.

Devices from an integration

For devices that come from a connected integration, use that integration’s discovery action. In the Add a device panel, choose What are you adding?, follow the exact brand or model instructions, and watch Joining now for new devices as they appear. Then assign the device’s room and finish with Done.

2. Under What are you adding?, choose the brand or device family that matches your device.
3. Follow the displayed reset and pairing steps exactly for that brand or family.
4. Use Start pairing when the screen tells you to begin.
5. Watch Joining now for devices that appear during the window.
6. Edit the new device name if needed.
7. Choose its Room.
8. Select Done when you are finished.Done

Reset instructions are model-specific. One brand’s sequence may remove pairing with another hub, so only use the instructions shown for the device you have.

Permissions and troubleshooting

If Device setup is managed by your partner appears, you cannot complete setup from your own account. Request help from support or from the partner who manages your home. If discovery fails, that does not mean your home is empty. Check whether the device is actually in pairing mode and read the on-screen error before trying again.
