Check a connected button

Use the device page to check the most recent button press and the button-specific details your home reports. The reading is view-only: it shows what the button last reported, not a way to trigger it from ALYT.

Open the button you want to check

  1. Choose the correct home, then open Home or Devices. Select the connected button from the list.
  2. If the button has its own stage, open that page first. On the stage, the last press appears in the main reading area. Tap More to see the rest of the device details, including Button and Details when they are available.

Read the last press

  1. Look for Last press. This is a read-only reading of the button's most recent reported event.
  2. If the device reports button events, Last button and Last gesture may also appear. They show the button number and the gesture the button last reported.
  3. If the device has no newer report, the reading stays at the last reported value. It does not create a new button action.

What you should see afterwards

  • The button name and room, if your home has them.
  • A live Last press reading when the device has reported one.
  • On some devices, Last button and Last gesture under the same details section.
  • Connection facts such as battery or signal only when the device reports them.

Troubleshooting

Unknown means no valid reading, not Off or zero. If Last press does not update, check that the button has power and that your home still shows the device as connected. If the device is unreachable, open its connection details and review the displayed connection information. Do not repeat a press action to diagnose a failed read, because Last press only changes when the device reports a new event.

If you do not see Last button or Last gesture, your button may not report button events. In that case, Last press is still the main reading to check.
